The World Trade Center and also known as WTC or Twin Towers destroyed in 2001 by terrorist attacks. The original World Trade Center is designed by Minoru Yamasaki in early 1960. It was a 100-story tower. The constructions of the World Trade enter involved the excavation of large amount of material which was earlier used in Battery Park City. It was a such complex and located in the heart of New York City.
The other World Trade Center buildings like 6 World Trade Center and the 7 World Trade enter built in 1980. Since there were such incidents like fire in 1975 and bombing in 1993, the port authorities decided to privatize the World Trade Center. The 7 World Trade Center is owned by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey but leased to Silverstein in July 2001. In the terrorist attack of 9/11, the third collapse was 7 World Trade Centre followed by twin towers.
But in September 11, 2001, the suicide attack made by terrorist resulted collapsing of South Tower and North Tower at around 2,750 deaths. Actually the 7 World Trade Center was collapsed after a day and the remaining the other buildings were demolished though they did not collapse but the damage of such buildings were irreparable. The cleaning and recovery process at the site of World Trade Center took eight months. A new building at the same site opened during May 2006 which was named as 7 World Trade Center.
