Du is the name of Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (EITC) based in United Emirates. It was commercially branded with the current in the year 2007. Du is owned by Emirates Investment Authority which has 39.50% shares in the company. 20.08% of the shares belong to Mubadala Development Company, 20%n owned by Emirates Communications & Technology Company and 20.92 shares by the public. By 2011, the company had around 4.5 million subscribers enjoying the services of the company. It launched its first mobile telecommunications services in 2007 across the UEA and later reported its results early 2008. By the time, the company had secured around 1.88 million mobile customers in the twelve months duration. Before the company launched its serves in 2006, shareholders had given 20% of its services to IPO. The company sales as per 2012 statistics showed that the company had achieved 10.16 billion in revenues which showed an increase of 14.71% of the revenues on 2011. The company acquired 1,241,251 new customers with a market increase of 48.7% market share by the year 2012. The company will be far from what it is by the year 2020 which can make it stand in the telecommunications platform worldwide. In the world, the company heads towards a smart future not only to the local economy but also to the world in terms of communications. By the year 2020, the company is believed to have grown to dominate the Middle East in terms of communicationfootnoteRef:4. The company has plans going beyond 2020 which targets to promote the use of the services by the company worldwide. People will be in a position to call internationally with low rates compared to the current rate of calling. By reaching customers outside united emirates, the company will be in a position to bring foreign currency to the country. The company will start new branches at different places in the united emirates which can improve its services to the customers. The company will be in a position to create more and more employment to the united emirates. The company has also contributed to the economy by sponsoring public projects which feed back to the community. The company will also be able to distribute the national income to the united emirates by creating employment to people from different parts of the united emirates. In the telecommunication industry, the company plans to improve the calling services as well as bring new services to the telecommunication industry.
