Introduction
The principles of nursing are aimed at providing a guide to medical practitioners in assessing and treating a patient. Justice is the ability to be fair and providing them with the care that is due to them. It means that the nurse has to provide access to service equally to all clients given the limited resources in the hospital (Bernhofer 2011). Therefore, one should not be discriminated from receiving care based on their gender, race, age or religion.
Example of Justice in Nursing

In the nursing profession people, deals with people from walks of life with various medical conditions and they may be in pain. A patient in pain is in distress and constantly needs attention in a bid to alleviate the situation. The nurse was presented with patients that were rich and able to pay for service and have a way of speaking for themselves to receive treatment quickly. In the same room, there is a poor woman that had been waiting to be served. The nurse went ahead to treat the poor older woman first despite the words thrown at them for not giving special treatment to the rich. It required the nurse to work efficiently to reduce the time that the patients were waiting to be served. Justice in nursing entails the nurse being fair enough to attend to the patients according to the hospital protocol and not based on how wealthy one patient is. If they attend to the richer patient first, the principle of justice will be violated. As justice is a basic human need (Johnstone, 2011).
Conclusion

Nurses are faced with difficult situations every day in the course of providing services to patients. In all situations, however, they have to ensure that they employ justice by making sure that they are unbiased in the method chosen for providing service (Bernhofer 2011).
