Harman Webster was born in 1861 in New Hampshire. At early age, he was captivated with skeletons and very soon became passionate with death. This interest encouraged him to pursue medicine. After graduating secondary education at 16, he changed his name to Henry Howard Holmes, whereby he later became known as H.H Homes. He studied medicine in Vermont, a small school, before he was admitted into the University of Michigan Medical School (Seltzer, 2008). While enrolled in the medical school, he stole cadaves from laboratory, disfigured or burned them, then he plants the body making it appear as if they had been involved in a deadly accident. The scandal which was behind it was that he would take out insurance policies on the people before planting these bodies and would earn money once the bodies were identified.
Homes passed the medical exams in 1884 and in 1885 he went to Chicago where he got his job working at a pharmacy whereby he was under Dr. Henry H. Homes. While the drugstore’s owner passed away, his wife was left to take care of the responsibilities of the store; though, Holmes convinced the window to allow him to by the store (Holder, 2014). The window later went missing, never to be seen again. Holmes claimed that the window wend to California, but this was never verified.
After Holmes had become drugstore owner, he bought an empty lot across streets. He build and designed a 3-story hotel that the neighborhood referred to it as “Castle”. During its construction in 1889, Holmes hired and fired many construction crews so that none would have clear opinion of what he was doing. He was designing “Murder Castle”. After construction was over in 1891, he posted ads in newspaper offering opportunities of job for young ladies and advertised the Castle as a lodging Castle. He also posted ads presenting himself wealthier.
Holmes was not capable of committing perfect crime but this is not because he was not able to commit the crimes. He has the intellectual wherewithal at the very least administration/appreciation from very mere mortals although his intellectual intricacies for his operation (Reagle, 2005). He will commit many many crimes and cause several hidden clues and await those who succeeded to find the mind which he deems wholly appreciating him would abstain him from committing perfect crimes.
Holmes died as he had stayed, unconcerned and thoughtless, even with the recollection admitted the killing of person score of both sexes in many parts of the country. His last words almost pointed blank denials of any crime committed with exception of the deaths of the two women at his hands by malpractice.
There were few comparatively persons assembled on the outside of the prison (Holder, 2005). Access to prison prior entrance of those who permitted to witness the exceculation. Holmes retired in a midnight and slept soundly when the entire time called at 6 o’clock on that morning. There were many matters pertaining to Holmes, also greatly pleasant

All of Holmes employees, fiancés, hotel guests and wives were needed to insurance policies for their lives. Holmes had to pay the premiums as far as them him as their beneficiary. Many of his wives and fiancés would disappear immediately as many of his employees and guests did. The neighborhood eventually reported that they had seen many get in to the castle but never saw them exit. This created a very high tension in the neighborhood (Holmes, 2008).
In the year 1893, Chicago had been given the priority of holding the world’s affair, social and cultural event that was to celebrate the 400th anniversary Columbus discovery in America. The celebration was programmed from May up to the month of October, and attracted many people all the world. When the message the worlds affair reached the Holmes, that the world cultural and social event would be held in Chicago he looked to it as an opportunity. He was very much aware that many visitors would search for accommodation near the affair and had a belief that many of them were women who he could easily seduce and accept living in the hotel. This was an opportunity since if he manages to lure them in the hotel; most of these uptown guests would not be seen again. He will do the same thing he has done to most of the women who got in to his hotel. He would attract them and they would get into his trap unknowingly of what would happen to them. Many of the times are those he lured them, raped them and eventually killed them through various ways, which were favored by his hotel layout, ( Holmes,2008).
He had built the hotel in such a way that, the first flow of the hotel had a several number of stores, which were used, as shops. In the upper levels of his castles contained his office, which had more than a hundred rooms, which were mainly used as quarters for living. He had numerous constructions crews built many different parts of rooms and he was the only one who knew the lay out well. Several rooms were soundproof and they contained lines of gas .These lines enabled Holmes to asphyxiate his visitors anytime he felt like doing it. In the whole building, there were doors, which had traps ,holes that he could peep in to and stairways that were leading nowhere and some chutes that were leading in the basement. He used this layout to transport the body’s unseen throughout the hotel. It was designed as the lab of Holmes. A dissecting table was stretching rack and crematory. He suffocated some of the women in his airtight rooms while listening to them gasp for air. With others, he would pump gas into their rooms through specially designed valves and wait until they passed out before transporting them to the hotels basement. He would sometimes send the bodies he had captured down the chute strip them dissect them of their flesh and sold the skeleton of human models to various medical schools. These schools would use the human skeletons for studies and for research. In various cases he would, he chose to place the bodies in acid pits or cremate them (Holmes, 2008).
